Preparation Guide

How to Prepare for Your Handyman Visit

Proper preparation saves time, money, and hassle. Find out what to have ready for a quick and smooth completion of your job.

Why preparation matters

Save time

The craftsman can start working immediately without unnecessary breaks to look for tools or materials.

Reduce costs

Less time = lower price. A well-prepared space means faster completion of the job.

Better results

The craftsman can fully focus on work quality instead of dealing with unexpected complications.

General tips for every visit

Clear the workspace

Move furniture and items away from the work area. The craftsman needs enough space for safe work and movement.

Ensure access to electricity

Verify that there is a working electrical outlet in the room. Most tools require 230V power supply.

Secure your pets

Keep dogs and cats in another room. Noisy tools and strangers can stress them and complicate the work.

Put away valuables

Move fragile items, jewelry, and valuables to safety. This prevents accidental damage during work.

Arrange parking

If you live in a paid parking zone, arrange a parking pass or let us know about parking options.

Frequently asked questions about preparation

Answers to the most common questions

Do I need my own tools?

No, the craftsman arrives with a complete set of professional tools. We only need access to an electrical outlet and enough working space.

What if I don't know what type of wall I have?

No problem. The craftsman will check the wall type on site before installation. You can photograph the walls before the visit for better preparation, but it's not required.

Do I have to stay home the entire time?

We recommend being present at the start and end of the work. During the work itself, you can be in another room or run errands nearby. It's up to your preference.

What if I'm missing a furniture component?

Always check the packaging before the craftsman arrives. If something is missing, contact the retailer (IKEA usually provides replacement parts for free). In some cases, we can provide substitute parts for a surcharge.

How far in advance should I prepare everything?

Ideally the day before. If you discover an issue (missing part, unsuitable wall, etc.), you'll have time to inform us and possibly reschedule.

Can I change the requirements on site?

Minor changes are usually no problem. Larger changes may affect the price and work duration. In that case, the craftsman will inform you first and wait for your approval.

Describe what you need. We'll handle the rest.

No calls. Send your request and photos, and we'll coordinate the right handyman and confirm everything with you.
